Did you know that fudge was created by accident? In the late 1800s, an American confectioner was making a batch of caramel and “fudged” it, leading to a happy, sweet accident.
Fudge also happens to be an OG stoner snack, and a cannabis-infused fudge is a great way to elevate your THC experience. This peanut butter fudge is easy to make, really tasty and can be prepared while there’s a movie running in the background.
At Hennep, we love trying out new ways to consume cannabis, and using high-quality ingredients is a core part of our process. Learn more about making your own infused butter for edibles and dive into this mouth-watering infused peanut butter fudge.

First, You Need to Make Cannabis-Infused Butter
Making infused butter is a simple process if you get it right, and it can really change how you consume recreational cannabis. Infused butter is easy to add to a plethora of recipes – morning toast, THC drinks, pastas, popcorn crispies, and a lot more.
All you’ll need is some grams of flower (buds) from our Provincetown dispensary and a stick (or two) of butter.
- Begin your process by pre-heating your oven at 240°F (115°C).
- Grab your crushed flower and spread it on a tray lined with parchment paper. For every stick of butter you use, put anywhere between 3.5-7 grams of flower (⅛ – ¼ of an ounce) on the tray, depending on how potent you’d like your infused butter to be.
- Once the ground cannabis is spread evenly, bake in the oven for 40-60 minutes. This process is called decarboxylation, with the heat activating dormant cannabinoids like THC-V.
- While your flower gets decarbed, take your stick (or sticks, depending on how much infused butter you’d like to make) of butter in a bowl. Place the bowl in a pot of water on the stove.
- Once your flower is decarbed, add it to the butter in the bowl and mix it every 15-20 minutes. Continue the process for 2-3 hours. The longer you infuse it, the more potent it’ll be.
- Double-boiling your infused butter distributes heat evenly and reduces the chances of the butter burning. Once the butter is infused, let it cool for 30 minutes and strain the infused butter from the remaining grounds.

Now You’re Ready to Make the Fudge
Cook time: 15 minutes
Prep time: 4 hours
Ingredients
- ½ cup peanut butter of choice
- ½ cup infused butter
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (optional)
- 2½ cups confectioners sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla essence
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- ½ cup of add-ons (chocolate chips or peanuts)
Instructions
- Line a 9-inch tray with aluminium foil.
- In a separate bowl, melt the peanut butter and cannabis-infused butter you made in a previous step. Add some unsalted butter if you’d like to balance out the weed taste from the infused butter.
- Place the bowl in the microwave or melt it over the stove. Once it’s melted, stir it until the mixture is smooth. Add some vanilla essence and some sea salt if you like some subtle salty notes in your desserts.
- Slowly add the confectioners’ sugar into the mix. Once the sugar has blended into the mix, fold in your add-ons (choc chips or peanuts) while the fudge mixture is still warm.
- The peanut butter fudge mixture should be thick like cookie dough. Transfer it into the tray with the foil and let it cool for 15 minutes. Once it’s at room temperature, put it in the fridge to set for at least 3½ hours (overnight is ideal).
And that’s it!
You can keep the fudge in your fridge for consumption within 4 days. It’ll also last for 2 months if you keep it in your freezer. It’s a great midnight snack or even better as a party snack.
